INVESTMENTS
AEH Investments is a diversified portfolio of assets managed for long term wealth creation. Our investment strategy includes balancing income protection and investment growth for our shareholders.

Equities

Listed equities portfolios are in the main long-term value-growth oriented Australian and International direct equities and managed funds. AEH maintains active management over its portfolios and works with a number of lead equities advisors.

Performance targets are benchmarked to exceed indexes, while tracking medium-to-high risk volatility measures.

Alternative asset classes include low correlation / contrarian assets, quant model funds and sector themes such as alternative energy and water.

Short term trading strategies are used to capitalise on particular market opportunities.

AEH maintains a substantial asset allocation in private equity investments in Australia and overseas, including a foundation investment with Investec Wentworth in the MGB Equity Growth Unit Trust and subsequent funds.

Performance targets for these private equity funds are typically aimed at a pre tax IRR of 25% per annum before management and success fees.

Unlisted Alternative Investments

The third arm of AEH Investments involves select unlisted business opportunities where AEH has a particular skill or interest and whereby we work with a business to provide capital and uplift growth, governance and value.

Current investment highlights include a leading unlisted residential property developer and project manager, an advanced web browser technology, and a leading established Australian media production and advertising sales company.

AEH also continues a long standing investment in Australian agriculture with its merino wool and mixed farming business. With holdings in Orange and Mudgee, AEH applies contemporary management practices to carry forward a family tradition that dates back four generations to when brothers Joseph and George Playoust immigrated to Australia in 1892 with the renowned French wool-brokerage firm, Henri Cauillez et Cie.
