Nicholas Playoust is the Managing Director of AEH Retirement Living and a main board director of AEH Group. He is responsible for the management and growth of the AEH property portfolio, while overseeing all development, project, village operations and sales management activities.
He has a particular passion for housing, seniors’ housing and innovative ways to provide accommodation to the current and next generation of senior Australians, with an emphasis on quality, service and affordability. He also has a keen interest in urban planning and architecture.
Nicholas has held managerial roles with Peddle Thorp & Walker, Mirvac, Walter Barda Architects and Brooks Murray Architects of London.
Nicholas is a director of the Retirement Living Council, the peak national body for the retirement village industry. His various directorships give him broad experience across various investment classes including property, private equity, agribusiness and early stage entrepreneurial small caps.
Nicholas holds a Bachelor of Architecture (Hons) and Bachelor of Science (Architecture) from Sydney University. He has completed courses at the London School of Economics in Microeconomics and Accounting and is currently undertaking a Certificate IV in Building and Construction.
Nicholas was a non-executive Director of AEH from 1995 and Executive Director since 2003.
